Science Literacy Week: Get Ready!

Science Literacy Week inspires people of all ages to read more about science and foster a stronger science culture in Canada. We are gearing up for another exciting week of science activities and books and we are looking forward to having you celebrate with us!

Science Literacy Week runs from September 16 to 22, 2019 and is powered by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC). In 2018, the event brought together over 300 partners hosting more than 850 events in 200 cities coast to coast.

Canada has a special relationship with the sea, bordering three separate oceans—and so this year, we will highlight ocean research, ocean health, challenges facing ocean communities and wildlife and solutions we can all implement at home. Whether it’s a talk, a shoreline cleanup, getting out on the water or just picking up a book, we’re hoping to make the oceans come to life for Canadians everywhere.

Science outreach organizations are encouraged to host events in their region and take advantage of the promotional support NSERC provides to partners during Science Literacy Week.
